ASTANA. October 12. KAZINFORM /Askar Bimendin/ In addition to the existing 130 nuclear facilities 350 new reactors will be built around the world, Yukiya Amano, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency told a press conference in Astana.
"Some countries (after the Fukushima tragic events) revise their nuclear policies. But this does not mean that others must abandon nuclear power plants. According to our forecasts, the number of nuclear reactors in the world could rise by up to 350 in addition to the 130 reactors currently in operation. This means that nuclear energy will continue to be used in many countries," Yukiya Amano stressed.
