ASTANA. August 28. KAZINFORM Kazinform Information Agency publishes a statement of the first president of the Chesh Republic Vaclav Havel on occasion of the International Day against Nuclear Tests.
"In the 1960s I have the opportunity to visit Kazakhstan. I know that Kazakhstan being a part of the Soviet Union had negative experience with nuclear tests and everything connected with that.
The country experiences long-term consequences at present. I respect the fact that the country wants a responsible approach to their own historical experience and to support global nuclear disarmament.
I support announcement of the International Day against Nuclear Tests and I am glad that it was initiated by free and independent Kazakhstan", the statement reads.
