Hungary granted TurkPA observer status

BAKU. KAZINFORM - At the 5th Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries in Baku Hungary was granted an observer status in the organization.

Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, acting chairman of TurkPA, Ogtay Asadov said that this issue was included in the agenda by Hungary's request. According to him, this issue has been discussed among the member states for a long time. The proposal was adopted through voting and Hungary was granted an observer status in TurkPA. Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament Sándor Lezsák expressed gratitude to the member states and promised that Hungary would justify their confidence.

Chairman of the Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament Kabibulla Dzhakupov noted that the first meeting of TurkPA took place five years ago in Azerbaijan. According to him, the economic crisis and environmental problems in the world should be on the agenda of TurkPA. Noting the importance of addressing environmental problems Dzhakupov proposed the creation of a commission on environment and natural resources under the TurkPA.
