How to address climate-related risks: best practices and approaches, UNDP discussion side-event in Astana
ASTANA. July 19. KAZINFORM UNDP Project "Climate Risk Management" will host a real-live discussion side-event "How to address climate-related risks: best practices and approaches" within the Seventh "Environment for Europe" Ministerial Conference this September 21-23 in Astana.
The main issue for debate is "Possibility and effectiveness of local, low budget measures on adaptation to climate change without large-scale country initiatives?"
Three parties will share the views, and get to the insights: leading experts, national and regional advocates for the effectiveness of climate risk management measures (CRM),"sceptics" - experts, expressing the view that the issues of climate risks cannot be resolved through the separated and small scale initiatives and "practitioners"- leaders of rural communities, farmers, who will tell the real on-the-ground facts, the UNDP in Kazakhstan reports.
