Holland week in Astana presented plenty of interesting events to the citizens
ASTANA. June 16. KAZINFORM - Holland week in Astana ended with a festive concert. The organizers - the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Astana - have done their best to make the last day of this week especially rich, Astana.kz informs.
Yesterday a Dutch town has spread near Zhastar Palace in the capital. Everyone willing could acquire souvenirs and crafts from the Kingdom at the opened fair. Artists from the far away country entertained and gladdened residents and guests of the capital. Performance of Dutch singers and show of Dutch circus artists have been prepared by the organizers for Astana residents. June 15 ended with a grandiose concert and an outdoor disco with the participation of a DJ from Holland.
Let us recall, that from 10 to 15 of June, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Republic of Kazakhstan has held the second week of Holland in Astana. The event has been held with a purpose of covering of the Dutch culture among the population, and establishing the new ways of cooperation between the two countries. Within the framework of the week of Holland in Astana residents and guests of the capital had an opportunity to get acquainted with the culture of the Kingdom.
The week started with the opening of the exhibition of Vincent Van Gogh pictorial reproductions in Nazarbayev Center, where visitors could see over 40 art reproductions of the famous Dutch postimpressionist artist. Also as part of the week, on Wednesday, 12 of June, Saryarka cinema hosted a festival of Dutch films.
In addition to cultural part, throughout the week several lectures were read in order to inform society on the Netherlands’ contribution to Kazakhstan economics and business. The invited Senior professor of Groningen University Dr Anton Schoot Uiterkamp read a lecture on a theme “Sustainable urban planning and energy efficient construction” in the ENU named after L.N.Gumilev.
