Hitachi set to win bid to buy Horizon Nuclear in Britain: sources

TOKYO. October 27. KAZINFORM Hitachi Ltd. is set to win a tender to buy Horizon Nuclear Power, which plans to build nuclear power plants in Britain, sources close to the matter said Saturday.
Hitachi and Horizon, a joint venture set up in 2009 in Britain by two German power companies, are close to concluding the deal which could be worth more than 50 billion yen, they said, Kyodo reports.
A group led by Westinghouse Electric Co., a unit of Toshiba Corp., is the rival bidder.
