Hit and run driver hits police officer crossing the road

SHYMKENT. KAZINFORM - Shymkent driver of "Daewoo" car has knocked a police officer who was crossing a road, according to the press service of the South Kazakhstan Internal Affairs Department.
"Police major was knocked down by "Daewoo" car while crossing the road. The car was driven by a 26-year-old resident of the city of Shymkent. The man immediately fled the scene of the accident but police managed to apprehend him without delay", said the press service. According to the police, the victim was hospitalized with a head injury. Criminal case has been initiated. The investigation is underway.
