History of Kazakhstan not to be boring anymore: Nazarbayev
ASTANA. July 10. KAZINFORM President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed to conduct analysis of textbooks on History of Kazakhstan within the framework of Social Modernization of Kazakhstan program.
The Head of State thinks that Kazakhstani system of education pays little attention to the practical side of the academic process and does not take into account students' individual needs. "As a matter of fact, the whole academic process is based on the old methods. The History of Kazakhstan subject does not help nurture an individual, a citizen and a patriot. Most students believe that this subject is boring, complicated and not interesting at all. The majority of Altyn Belgi mark contenders (straight-A students) failed to score the required minimum of points in History of Kazakhstan at 2012 single national testing in June because of 'complicated' questions," President Nazarbayev explained.
Nursultan Nazarbayev charged the Ministry of Education and Science to carry out analysis of textbooks on History of Kazakhstan and to change the content and forms of teaching of that subject at schools, if necessary.
