Highest infant mortality rate from congenital anomalies recorded in 4 rgns of Kazakhstan

ASTANA. August 23. KAZINFORM The main cause of infant mortality (under the age of 1 year old) in Kazakhstan are conditions originating in the perinatal period, the press release of the Kazakh Statistics Agency reads.

The infant mortality rate reached 3 167 in 2011 against 3 616 in 2010. The highest unfit mortality is observed in Almaty, Mangystau, Kyzylorda, Atyrau, South Kazakhstan regions, the lowest rate is seen in Karaganda and Aktobe regions.

The number of infants died from congenital anomalies stood at 1079 in 2011 against 1061 in 2010. the highest rate from congenital malformations is registered in Karaganda, Zhambyl, East Kazakhstan and West Kazakhstan regions.
