Heavy crime detection rate decreasing in Astana

ASTANA. KAZINFORM "Decrease in heavy and especially grave crimes detection rate is observed in Astana city," Mayor Imangali Tasmagambetov said a meeting of the coordination council on raising crime fighting efficiency at the General Prosecutor's Office.
"The detection rate of heavy and especially grave crimes reached 49.4% and 87.1% in 2012 against 32.3% and 78.7% correspondingly in 2013. Besides, about 80% of offenses are committed by newcomers to the city," he added.
