Health Ministry with the Netherlands delegation debated opening Stem Cell Research Centre in Kazakhstan
ASTANA. May 22. KAZINFORM - The Ministry of Health discussed the opening of the Center of stem cell research and biomedical similar to the Silicon Valley in Kazakhstan, the press service of the department informs.
As part of the Astana Economic Forum at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan there has been held a meeting of the executive secretary S. Musinov with a delegation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands comprising the president of the University of Groningen Sibrandes Poppema, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Kazakhstan Peyter Van Leeuwen and others.
The meeting touched on a partnership between the Ministry of Health, health centers of Kazakhstan with the University of Groningen for further development of new technologies in Kazakhstan in the field of medicine.
Executive secretary of the Ministry of Health Musin noted that the Astana Economic Forum allowed to establish cooperation to a higher level. He briefed the guests on the new approaches in scientfic field, in particular, on the innovations in developing cell transplants.
President of the University of Groningen Sibrandes Poppema spoke about the activities of his institution, which is 400 years old, in the field of "healthy aging" and the sustainable society, the university cooperation with institutions and research centers such as the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skolteha), the Institute of General Genetics .after Vavilov of the Russian Academy of Science and many others.
They have also discussed the opening of the Centre in the Republic of Kazakhstan on stem cell research and biomedical similar to the Silicon Valley.
