Head of State to meet UN Sec General in Akorda

ASTANA. April 7. KAZINFORM /Kalamkas Abuova/ Kazakh Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev will meet with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon paying official visit to our country today in Akorda.

The day before the UN Secretary General visited East Kazakhstan region. The distinguished guest and his spouse were accompanied by Kazakh Secretary of State - Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev and regional Governor Berdybek Saparbayev. They visited the Institute of Radiation Safety and Ecology and "Tokamak" thermonuclear reactor in Kurchatov town.

Ban Ki-moon got acquainted with the exposition of the Museum of History of the Semipalatinsk Test Site. "I appreciate the sample of Kazakhstan's leadership. Conducting works at the nuclear test site and renouncing nuclear weapons you became an example for the rest of the world. We hope nuclear explosions will not ever happen again. Let's work together for establishment of nuclear free world", he said in his record left at the museum.

Visiting "Opytnoye pole" ("Experimental field") test site, the UN Secretary General said that he fully supports the peaceful initiatives of Kazakh President N.Nazarbayev.
