Head of State meets with Human Rights Commissioner
ASTANA. February 20. KAZINFORM Today, Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has received Human Rights Commissioner of Kazakhstan Askar Shakirov, Kazinform refers to the press service of Akorda.
The Human Rights Commissioner reported on the main results of last year's work, adding the Ombudsman firmly established itself in the political and legal system of the country.
Nursultan Nazarbayev got familiarized with priorities of the Ombudsman office activities and also paid attention to the human rights' protection of disabled people and vulnerable and disadvantaged social groups.
In addition, the President noted the necessity to enhance efforts on preventing conflicts and violations of human rights and freedoms at the workplace.
Following the meeting, the President of Kazakhstan gave a number of specific tasks aimed at the adoption of legislative and institutional measures that will improve work in the field of human rights in the country.
