Head of State invited U.S. President Barack Obama to partake in OSCE summit in Astana Nov

As earlier reported, Kazakh and U.S. Presidents had met in Blair House residence in Washington.

In the course of the meeting N. Nazarbayev pointed out all initiatives and achievements of the U.S. President in international security, in particular, convocation of the Global Nuclear Security Summit, signing the new treaty with Russia on nuclear disarmament, adoption of a new nuclear strategy of the U.S.A. which had become a great step towards creation of the nuclear weapons-free world.

The President of Kazakhstan expressed satisfaction with the level of development of the Kazakh-American relations.

"The U.S.A. is a leading economic and investment partner of Kazakhstan. The largest American companies are functioning today in Kazakhstan's energy sector. Out of USD 80 bln of foreign investments USD 30 bln fall on American companies", N. Nazarbayev stressed.

The Presidents focused on the issues of expansion of multilateral interaction of Kazakhstan and the U.S.A. and agreed on establishment of a working commission to be headed by both countries' foreign ministers.

The parties also discussed the situation in Afghanistan, Central Asia, on the Eurasian space in the context of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the OSCE.

Barack Obama expressed support to Kazakhstan' efforts on ensuring regional stability and security.

Other urgent issues of bilateral relations were discussed as well.

After then the Head of the State held several meetings with the presidents of other countries participating in the Summit. The agendas of the meetings included expansion of investment cooperation of the American business with the partners from Kazakhstan in promising, mutually beneficial directions, the Presidential press service informs.
