Head of National Bank of Kazakhstan makes statement

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The National Bank of Kazakhstan has denied rumors related to financial distress in some banks of Kazakhstan, this has been stated by the head of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Kairat Kelimbetov.
"Today people via text messages Kazakh citizens got false and misleading information about the financial position of a number of Kazakh banks. In this regard, we believe that this information, and the National Bank confirms, is false, misleading, provocative and aimed at destabilizing the banking system of our country", said K.Kelimbetov in Central Communications Service.
According to his words, the National Bank has already appealed to the appropriate law enforcement authorities to prevent and combat such provocative actions.
