Hague held reception on Kazakhstan Constitution Day
ANA. September 5. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan Embassy in the Hague held a reception dedicated to the Constitution Day. Representatives of state bodies of the Netherlands, the Office of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities headed by High Commissioner Knut Vollebaek, Dutch community, workers of science and culture, Kazakh Diaspora were invited to the event.
Kazakh side was represented there by a delegation of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan which had arrived in the Netherlands for participating in the seminar entitled "Kazakhstan's experience of inter-ethnic integration and tolerance" and a delegation of the Ministry of Justice, Supreme Court and Prosecutor General's Office.
The Dutch side was acquainted with the history of adoption of the Kazakhstan Constitution as a factor of liberalization of the political system, extension of the power of the Parliament in state administration, increasing the role of the political parties, non-governmental organizations and national minorities in socio-political life of the country.
The OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Knut Vollebaek appraised Kazakhstan's achievements since adoption of the country's Main Law, the activity of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan and expressed hope for further interaction on national minorities' problems, their involvement in the country's socio-political life and highlighted importance of the forthcoming chairmanship in the OSCE, the press service of the Kazakh MFA informs.
