Green project worth $ 85.5 million offered to be implemented in Aktau
AKTAU. KAZINFORM - January 20 Aktau city administration, the chamber of entrepreneurs of Mangystau region and "Imperial renewable energy Kazakhstan" company signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation.
The company, which has already implemented investment projects in 9 countries around the world, specializes on the projects for desalination and electricity generation from solar energy. Therefore, Mangystau region was chosen because of the high level of solar activity. The French company "Imperial renewable energy Kazakhstan" has offered to build in Aktau a modular plant worth $85.5 million, which will desalinate 10 million liters of water per day and produce 150 megawatts of electricity. A modular plant construction phase lasts from 12 to 15 months, depending on its capacity. Such plants are typically run in remote settlements, where it is uneconomical to lay power, gas and water lines. The company also intends to open research center on the basis of a university in Aktau.
