Green energy boost: World Bank grants USD 50mln to Kyrgyzstan

In Bishkek, President Sadyr Zhaparov announced that the World Bank has allocated 50 million US dollars in grants to Kyrgyzstan to support the country’s transition to green energy and reduce carbon dioxide emissions, Qazinform News Agency cites Kabar.
The announcement was made during the launch of the first phase of the ROX Issyk-Kul solar power plant in Kyzyl-Oruk village, Issyk-Kul region.
Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that the funds will help reduce harmful emissions and accelerate the shift toward renewable energy.
He stressed the importance of continuing to develop the green energy sector as a national priority.
It should be noted, Kazakhstan will build 'giant power banks' to store green energy.
