Governmental Commission on providing aid to victims of Taldykorgan Drug RehabHospital fire established
ASTANA. September 13. KAZINFORM Today Prime Minister Karim Massimov has decreed to establish a special Government commission for providing aid to the families of the victims of the fire occurred at the Taldykorgan Regional Drug Rehabilitation
Hospital and liquidation of the fire consequences, the PM's press service informs.
The Prime Minister charged the Commission to investigate the reasons of the tragedy and take comprehensive measures on providing help to the victims and liquidation of the fire consequences.
The fire broke out Sep 13 at 05:28 at the Drug Rehabilitation Hospital built in 1951. At 09:03 the fire was fully liquidated.
During the fire there were 78 people inside. Rescuers could evacuate 40 of them. According to the preliminary data, 38 people were killed in the fire.
The Governmental commission is headed by Vice Premier Serik Akhmetov. The Commission also includes Minister of Emergencies Vladimir Bozhko, ministers of healthcare, labor and social protection, heads of law-enforcement bodies, Akim of Almaty oblast and other officials.
