Government to work out draft law on agricultural coop - Nursultan Nazarbayev

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Compared to the last year, the amount of subsidies to the development of agro-industrial complex grew almost 2-fold - from KZT 88.7 to 156 billion, this was announced by Nursultan Nazarbayev at a joint session of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"Development of agro-industrial complex is of particular importance. At present the sphere of agriculture embodies about 7,000 large agricultural companies, 184,000 farmers and about 2 million employees. In the current year there have been allocated KZT 302 billion for agricultural complex development", said Nursultan Nazarbayev. According to him, volume of subsidies provided by the state is growing. "The amount of subsidies increased almost 2-fold - from KZT 88.7 billion to KZT 156 billion in comparison with the last year", he said. President also stressed that the development of agriculture requires legislative support. Government has developed a package of amendments to the tax laws in order to increase productivity in the agricultural sector. This fall, the package is planned to be submitted to the Majilis. In addition, I instructed the Government to work out a draft law "On agricultural cooperation" before the yearend", concluded the President.
