Government to provide all-round support to flood-hit E Kazakhstan region - Shukeyev
UST KAMENOGORK. April 1. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ The Governmental Commission on liquidation of flood consequences headed by Vice Prime Minister Umirzak Shukeyev arrived yesterday in East Kazakhstan oblast.
The delegation consists of Secretary of Nur Otan Party Sergey Gromov, Minister of Emergencies Vladimir Bozhko, Chairman of the Agency for Construction and Housing-Utilities Serik Nokin, Deputy of the Majilis Valery Doskalov, Managing Director of Samruk Kazyna Fund Kairat Aitekenov and Managing Director of KazAgro Holding Zholdymurat Amanbayev.
In Zaisan municipality the members of the Commission surveyed dangerous areas around Karatal, Sarterek, Ainabulak, Kensai, Karabulak villages, the dams of Uidene and Tenderlik water reservoirs as well as Tasbastau village where 100 houses remained under water. 34 of them are beyond repair.
On the second half of the day the Commission surveyed Zhantikei, Kokzhyra and Aksuat villages of Tarbagatai municipality. U. Shukeyev personally checked the damaged houses and met with the residents who suffered from flood.
As Shukeyev noted at the meeting, the Government would provide all-round support to the flood-hit region. In particular, the families which lost their houses will be accommodated in tents and will be given warm clothes, blankets and food. Every resident will be provided with one-time compensation to the amount of KZT 5, 000.
The Government will also help the citizens in restoration of their houses. KazAgro Holding is ready to provide them with loans for the term of five years for buying cattle.
As of March 30, 2010 1,157 houses were damaged with flood, 536 of them were destroyed and 621 ones need heavy repair. 7, 406 people were evacuated, 6,007 of them have already returned to their houses, 882 live at the relatives' houses, 517 people are temporarily accommodated in the educational and cultural facilities.
