GOVERNMENT: Kazakhstan improves its Global Competitiveness Index and prepares for construction of NPPs
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - In Ukimet Uiy Prime Minister Karim Massimov has held a regular meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It discussed questions of improvement of the Global Competitiveness Index of Kazakhstan, in particular the share of the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Interior in the GCI.
"Currently, the agency identified a set of targeted measures for improvement of the country's position in the ranking of GCI. First of all, it is provision of full registration of statements on crimes, and automation and transferring some types of licensing and services to electronic format, " the head of the Interior Ministry Kalmukhanbet Kassymov said. Deputy Minister Zauresh Baymoldina reported about the work on improvement of the indicators designated for the Ministry of Justice. It included the effectiveness of legislation in challenging administrative regulation, property rights, the effectiveness of legislation in resolving disputes, intellectual property protection. Minister of National Economy Yerbolat Dossayev stressed the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan of socio-economic development of Zhezkazgan, Satpayev and Ulytau district in Karaganda region for 2012-2017. During French President Francois Hollande's visit to Astana he took part in a business forum. Vice-Minister for Investment and Development Yerlan Sagadiyev reported that it is planned in conjunction with the French partners to build space satellites, produce fuel for nuclear reactors, solar panels and other products. Thanks to the cooperation with France Kazakhstan produces high-tech products including helicopters, electro locomotives, and titanium ingots. At the same forum, Vice Minister of Energy Bahytzhan Dzhaksaliyev reported that it is planned to build nuclear one power plant near the town of Kurchatov, and the other - near Lake Balkhash. Today Prime Minister Karim Massimov has partaken in the opening ceremony of the annual republican competition-exhibition titled "Best Product of Kazakhstan" in "Korme" exhibition complex. In his speech, Mr. Massimov noted that the holding of this competition is an incentive for entrepreneurs in improving the quality of their goods. Competition-exhibition "Best Product of Kazakhstan" has been held since 2001, over 5000 enterprises have taken part in the contest.
