The officials met to discuss the efforts to build up regional ties as part of the Ambassador's visit to Gomel Oblast on 26-27 March.

Kostanay Oblast has already expressed willingness to sign a cooperation agreement with Gomel Oblast. Other regions of Kazakhstan also want to establish cooperation with the Belarusian region. "We would like to implement mutually beneficial joint projects in the economy. "A number of local enterprises ship about 40% of exports to Kazakhstan. I am convinced that the delegation of Kazakhstani businessmen who are eager to cooperate with Gomel Oblast will participate in the Gomel Economic Forum which will be held in May 2013. The embassy is currently working on the issue," Ergali Bulegenov said.

During his trip to Gomel Oblast the Ambassador paid a visit to a number of industrial companies of the region, including Gomselmash, Gomelagrokomplekt, Gomeldrev and Gomel Fat Processing Plant, Kazinform refers to BelTA.
