Golovkin's Promoter on going to 168 to face Ward, Froch

NEW YORK. November 4. KAZINFORM - Promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions is not ruling out the possibility of having WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (28-0, 25KOs) move up in weight to face champions Andre Ward and Carl Froch, but the money has to be right, according to Boxingscene.com.

Ward is going to defend his WBA "super title" against Edwin Rodriguez on November 16th. A week later Froch will return to defend his IBF/WBA 'regular' title against domestic rival George Groves. Golovkin is going to return on February 1 in Monte Carlo.

"It's easy to say a Carl Froch fight, but what's going to be involved with that. For Gennady to move to 168, it has to be a compelling fight. Carl Froch is a compelling fight. Andre Ward is a compelling fight. But there are a lot of other details there. Andre Ward had a problem just making the deal with Edwin Rodriguez, so I don't know how they are going to work out the financial details to get [Gennady to 168]. I know Andre would never move down to 160, so to get Gennady to 168 we would have to work out those details. I know HBO wants to put a big fight together and we are going to continue to move in that direction," Loeffler said.
