ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has signed a contract with new manager Al Haymon, Kazinform has learnt from Vesti.kz.
Inactive since March 2014, Chavez declared himself a promotional free agent after devastating Bryan Vera in their rematch. However, his former promotional company Top Rank believe that Chavez is still contractually obligated to provide them with one more fight. The boxer himself is confident his contract expired back in September. Earlier it was reported that Golovkin vs. Chavez Jr. fight scheduled on July 12, 2014 was cancelled. Perhaps, negotiations with Haymon have something to do with it. Al Haymon works with over 120 boxers, including Floyd Mayweather Jr.
