Global swine flu cases top 251,000 - Russian regulator

MOSCOW. August 25. KAZINFORM. The number of human cases of swine flu infection has reached 251,461 worldwide, of which 2,545 have been fatal, Russia's consumer rights regulator said on Monday; Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
"As of 14:00 Moscow time on August 24, taking into account data from World Health Organization regional bureaus, the total number of laboratory-confirmed human cases of A/H1N1 infection stands at 251,461, including 2,545 deaths," Rospotrebnadzor said.
As of August 21, 187 people have been diagnosed with swine flu in Russia. Five people who arrived from countries hit by swine flu pandemics were quarantined on Monday; Kazinform cites RIA Novosti.
