Global financial crisis did not change positive dynamics of Astana development - Mayor

Astana Mayor Imangali Tasmagambetov said it at the 'Astana Invest 2011' forum.

'The amount of gross city product of the capital has increased by more than 50 times over the last decade. The share of the capital in the GDP of the country has increased from 1.5 percent to 10 percent. The amount of industrial production has increased by over 7 times, certainly, it is in tight connection with such an economic part as investment that has also increased by 30 times over the decade. It is the demonstration of the competitiveness of our city and the value it presents,' I. Tasmagambetov said.

'Definitely, the global crisis hampered the work of economic mechanism of our city as well but it did not change the positive dynamics of Astana development,' the Mayor added.
