Germany to lend cash-strapped Kyrgyzstan $45 mln

BISHKEK. May 19. KAZINFORM Germany will provide a loan to Kyrgyzstan totaling 33 million euros ($44.75 mln) to stabilize the country's economy and health sector, a Kyrgyz government official said on Tuesday; Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.

The Central Asian country's assistant economics minister, Sanjar Mukanbetov, said after talks with German government officials in Bonn that 8.5 million euros of the loan could be written off in exchange for investments in Kyrgyzstan's healthcare system.
