Geographical spread is a definite problem for development of Kazakhstan - Tony Blair

KAZINFORM - Today in Astana, at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan, at the international seminar on "Implementation of the reforms - the positioning of Kazakhstan for the best growth and development," there was a lecture on the modernization of regional policy by ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair.

In his speech he highlighted the issues of advanced management solutions for implementation of administrative reforms and their orientation to the development and competitiveness of the country.

During the lecture Tony Blair said that the biggest problem and challenge for the further development of Kazakhstan and entering the thirty most developed countries is to provide consistent, and evolutionary reform. Because in order to reach the next level of development, the country will need a completely new socio-economic formation.

"There are a number of barriers and risks, some of which are natural and some are man-made. Even the geographical spread of the country is a definite problem. However, the climate can also be a barrier. An important problem in your area has been inherited from the Soviet Union - when the old system and the mentality that is not constructive at the moment, you have not yet walked off from. Among the problems of development can be noted the geographical location of the country without access to the ocean. Any of these problems can be a serious barrier development, with some of them you can handle, and some you have to live with, " said Mr Blair.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Agency for Civil Service Baimenov, heads of departments of the Presidential Administration, the central government, the faculty and doctoral students of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan and the Nazarbayev University and many others.
