General Motors plans to sell 2 million vehicles in China in 2010

PARIS. January 25. KAZINFORM. General Motors, a U.S. corporation partially controlled by the government, will present ten new models, including an Opel, on the Chinese market this year, a company representative said; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.

In his words, the company has a strategic goal of selling two million vehicles in China in 2010.

General Motors is the largest foreign seller of vehicles on the Chinese market. The sales stood at 1.83 million vehicles in 2009, which was 67% more than in 2008.

China became the world leader by the number of vehicles sold on the domestic market last year.

In all, 10.3 million cars and 3.3 million trucks were sold in China in 2009, or 53% more than in the previous year; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
