Sultan Zhassybay, who has been appointed Director General of GEFCO Kazakhstan, said that:

"The geographical situation of Kazakhstan, in the middle of Eurasia, makes it possible for this country to play the part as a bridge between Europe and Asia, thus connecting the countries of Central Asia, like Uzbekistan, Kirghizstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, to Europe. China also enters the Russian and European markets via Kazakhstan.

"Moreover, the industrial sector and the foreign trade of Kazakhstan are experiencing strong growth, thus creating an environment favourable for the development of logistic infrastructures and transport".

According to Handy Shipping Guide, GEFCO Kazakhstan will offer supply chain solutions to clients in the Central Asian region, with the intention to expand in the future to include specialist logistics services to industrial customers with manufacturing facilities in the area.

"By matching the expertise and the quality of the services offered by GEFCO, we wish to reach the highest European standards. We thus hope to contribute to the development of the logistics and transport sector in Kazakhstan," Sultan Zhassybay added.
