Gazprom starts construction on Nord Stream gas pipeline

VYBORG. April 9. KAZINFORM Russian energy monopoly Gazprom on Friday officially started the construction of Nord Stream, a pipeline to pump natural gas from Russia to Europe under the Baltic Sea.
The first symbolic weld was made in the presence of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller, and Nord Stream board director Gerhard Schroeder, Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
