Gasification project of Astana through Kokshetau postponed due to high cost

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Gasification project of Astana through the town of Kokshetau has been postponed due to the high cost, this has been announced today at the Government Hour in the Majilis by the Minister of Oil and Gas Uzakbay Karabalin.

"Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning considered the project as expensive. Given the economic situation, the project's implementation was postponed indefinitely. The Government supported the decision", U. Karabalin informed MPs. According to his words the feasibility study worked out in 2013 was considered by the Government of Kazakhstan. However, the project's construction, according to the head of Oil and Gas Ministry, requires more than USD 1 billion. Moreover construction of 8 gas stations launched in Astana. Karabalin also spoke about the possibility of building a plant in the city of Kyzylorda.
