Full use of energy resources in south and east of Kazakhstan to allow to generate 30 GW of electricity annually
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The full use of energy resources in south and east Kazakhstan will allow to generate about 30 GW of electricity a year, Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Vladimir Shkolnik told today.
"Kazakhstan has enough potential in the hydro energy sphere, thus I think that the full use of energy resources in south and east will allow to generate about 30 GW of electricity a year," V. Shkolnik said at the presentation of international energy agency and program INOGATE and reviews of the energy policy of the Middle East, Caucasus and Central Asia held in Astana.
The minister also noted a high potential of the country in the field of renewable energy sources.
"We have quite promising prospects in using the energy of the sun and wind," V. Shkolnik added.
