-20°C frosts approaching Kazakhstan

Under the impact of the active Atlantic cyclone trough and atmospheric fronts caused by it, most parts of Kazakhstan will see a mix of rain and snow in the nearest days, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Heavy precipitation will hit northwest and north of Kazakhstan on December 3, east of the country on December 3-4 and mountainous districts of the southeast of Kazakhstan on December 4, says Kazhydromet.

According to the national weather service, northern regions will see icy road conditions and blizzard.

Fog and strong wind up to 15-29 meters per second as well snow storm are forecast across the country.

Wind speed in northwestern and northern regions may exceed 30 meters per second.

Cold air masses caused by the Northwestern Anticyclone ridge will start affecting Kazakhstan on December 4, which will result in sharp decrease in temperatures in most regions.

Thus, the mercury will drop to -7-21°C in northwestern and northern regions at nights, and to -5-15°C in central and eastern parts. In southern areas, temperatures will dip to 0-5°C.
