French Embassy to open visa office in Atyrau
ATYRAU. KAZINFORM - A visa office of the French Embassy may be opened in the city of Atyrau, this has been announced by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kazakhstan Francis Etienne.
"Kazakhstan is a vast country. Therefore, in the future we will possibly open a visa department in the city of Atyrau. It is not excluded that we will also open a French school in the same city", said the Ambassador. Ambassador arrived in Atyrau to present the newly appointed Honorary Consul of France in Kazakhstan. Yesengali Baymenov, CEO of "Merkur Holding" in Kazakhstan was appointed to the position. "The main mission of the honorary consul would be in the representation of France in the city of Atyrau and Atyrau region. It is responsible for providing legal and other assistance to French citizens living in the region, as well as the development of economic and cultural cooperation between France and Kazakhstan", said the Honorary Consul F.Etienne. France, investing in Kazakhstan's economy USD 9 billion, ranks third in terms of investment after the Netherlands and the USA. Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and France every year reaches more than 6.5 billion euros, 4.2 billion of which accounted for the Atyrau region.
