Foundation-laying ceremony for new engineering plants held in Astana
ASTANA. June 26. KAZINFORM Ceremony of laying the foundations stones at the construction site of new plants on production of electric locomotives and passenger coaches has been held at the territory of the industrial park of Astana with participation of Prime Minister Karim Massimov today. Both industrial-innovative projects are aimed at diversification of the Kazakh economy, the press service of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" National Company reports.
Vice Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev, Minister of Transport and Communications Abelgazy Kusainov, President of "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" Askar Mamin took part in the ceremony.
President N.Nazarbayev set the task on development of productions based on advanced technologies. Construction of the plant on production of electric locomotives in Astana together with French company "Alstom" and Russian CJSC "Transmashholding" and plant on assembly and maintenance of passengers coaches using the technologies of "Patentee TaigoSA" Spain Company are one of the projects resolving set tasks.
The electric locomotives will be issued by joint Kazakh-Russian-French enterprise using advanced technologies. Planned date of commissioning of the facility is 2012. 300 jobs are expected to be created.
In accordance with the agreement signed at the economic forum in St. Petersburg on June 19, 2010, the joint enterprise will firstly meet the requirements of the Kazakh market. Later the locomotives will be exported to other states as well.
