Foreign trade turnover of Zhambyl region increased in 2008

ZHAMBYL REGION. February 13. KAZINFORM. /Galina Skripnik/ Foreign trade turnover of Zhambyl region amounted to USD 2.1 billion in 2008; Kazinform refers to the economy and budget planning department of the Zhambyl regional akimat.
The region conducted foreign trade with 40 countries that is 1.7 times more than in 2007. The export amounted to USD 941.3 million, import ? USD 1.2 billion.
The region increased the export volume of chemical products: mineral fertilizers ? 2.3 times, phosphoric acid ? 3.9 times, white phosphorus ? twofold and etc.
Besides, sugar export increased by 9.2%. Import of natural gas rose 1.8 times.
