Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan and Russia discuss coop within EAEU

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - At a press conference in Moscow Yerlan Idrissov, Foreign Affairs Minister of Kazakhstan, said that the current agenda of bilateral relations covers a wide range of issues most important of which is trade - economic and investment collaboration.

In turn, Lavrov said that the meeting discussed "cooperation within the framework of the Customs Union and Common Economic Space with a focus on the formation in 2015 of the Eurasian Economic Union including preparations for the signing of EAEU Treaty". Questions were raised about the implementation of the Joint Action Plan of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation for 2013-2015. Moreover, the parties negotiated on the progress of the preparation for the XI Forum of Interregional cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan themed "Innovation in the hydrocarbon industry" which will be held in autumn in the Kazakh city of Atyrau. The talks also spoke about cooperation between the two countries within international and regional organizations. The sides exchanged views on current and international issues including the situation in Afghanistan, Syria, Central Asia and Iran's nuclear program. "No doubt, we have discussed the situation in Ukraine. We have common approaches for combating extremism, normalization of the Ukraine's situation", said Lavrov. The parties agreed that in the second half of the current year Lavrov will visit Kazakhstan. In addition, during the meeting of Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan and Russia an Action Plan for cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two states in 2014 was signed.
