The doctors say that because of the greater knowledge of contraception women are now less likely to have abortions.

"Our direction is reproductive health. And we're talking about forced abortion when the pregnancy is to be interrupted for medical reasons. Sometimes at long periods. No matter how blasphemous it sounds, but this step is taken when we (doctors) see that due to the heavy vices child will be unviable. During 2012 there were 160 of such cases, in 5 months of this year - about 60 ", states the chief geneticist of the Karaganda region, the head of medical and genetic counseling of the regional perinatal center Zhanat Zavotpaeva.

As beleived by her, more than half of the cases were young families under the age of 25 years.

"This issue is very relevant because it speaks about the health of our youth. That is, they can not give birth to a healthy baby, " says the expert.

In her opinion, the reasons lie in early sexual life of young people. "Frequent communication lead to infection, and in the end - to uncorrectable fetal defects", says J. Zavotpaeva.

She also mentioned that in the year up to 30 children are born with Down syndrome in the region. "Earlier, we were speaking about the age factor, but now it is not true. The reasons are firstly, the environment, and secondly, nutrition. All this leads to the fact that young people accumulate various shifts - hormonal, and metabolic disorders. And, of course, a way of life, when girls from an early age start smoking, and they drink alcohol, " states the geneticist.

The state allocates significant funds for genetic examinations. "Last year, only for reagentsof genetic screening have been allocated to 115 million tenge. This year, we hope, it will be the same " explains J. Zavotpaeva.

In her opinion, it is necessary to pay more attention to prevention, and sex education should be started earlier. The specialist also offers to re-engage with Wedding Palaces, where the newlyweds immediately will be sent to consultation themed "Marriage and Family."

"In addition, there are no experts. We have no children's gynecologists, there is lack of andrologists, and in particular, children's, boys also have health problems, unfortunately, very many, " added the chief geneticist of the area.

The discussion was attended by doctors, the Imam, the leaders of youth organizations. To the meeting of the club were invited mothers of many children and foster parents who have taken up to 18 children.
