ASTANA. November 29. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ For the OSCE it is time to revive its functions and transfer its decisions to higher political level. Chairman of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Petros Efthimiou has said it at a briefing in "Shabyt" Palace of Art.
"And within the framework of the Korfu process, which was started one and a half year ago. Modernization of the OSCE functions is the only way for the Organization to ensure wider future for all of us", Petros Efthimiou noted.
The OSCE PA President reminded that heads of the OSCE participating states will gather in Astana the day after tomorrow.
"Of course, we should prepare an actions plan and more effective solve the issues we face. We need to bring up a level and status of the General Secretary of the OSCE and Director of the ODIHR. These positions should be held by people of the corresponding caliber, who will give greater efficiency and visibility to the organization, suggesting specific proposals", Petros Efthimiou noted.
