Football player brutally attacked in the center of Uralsk

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Sergey Shevtsov, 24, playing for FC Akzhaiyk has survived a brutal attack in the center of Uralsk city, Kazinform has learned from Uralskaya nedelya newspaper.
A club statement given to the newspaper says: "The incident happened on September 5. The footballer was attacked by unknown people armed with metal rods." The police deny that the attackers used metal rods. The incident is currently under investigation. The offenders' motivation is ‘unknown'.
