Food prices to be under control in West Kazakhstan due to entry to Customs Union
URALSK. January 18. KAZINFORM /Yelzhan Yeraly/ "Due to the entry to the Customs Union the prices for foodstuffs will be under control in the West Kazakhstan region", regional governor Baktykozha Izmukhambetov said at the meeting with heads of the departments.
According to the Governor, many types of foods are cheaper in the region. 30 types of foodstuffs out of 50 are cheaper as compared to the average prices in the country.
As long as the region borders with five Russian regions it is of paramount importance to adapt to the new conditions appeared due to the establishment of the Customs Union. The Governor charged his deputies to establish a special commission by January 20 that will work over the customs issues. The commission must develop a joint action plan in accordance with the entry to the Customs Union.
Head of the regional department of customs control Amirkhan Maukulov briefed the participants on new customs duties. The regional Governor charged the heads of departments to control over the prices taking into account the customs duties.
