Fog and strong wind in store for Kazakhstan

The National Weather Agency Kazhydromet issued the weather forecast for Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports.

In the next few days, the weather in northern Kazakhstan will be influenced by a trough of the northern cyclone, while southern regions will under the impact of the southern cyclone. As a result, snow and blizzards are expected across Kazakhstan, with mixed precipitation in the form of wet snow and rain, as well as icy conditions in the southern and southeastern regions during the daytime. Strong winds and fog are also forecast nationwide.

West Kazakhstan is to expect temperatures to range from -5°C to -13°C at night, and from -6°C to 1°C in the daytime. In the country's southwest, nighttime temperatures will range from -1°C to -9°C, and daytime temperatures from -3°C to 2°C.

The northwest is to see temperatures rise to as high as -3°C. In northern Kazakhstan, temperatures will fluctuate between -7°C to -20°C at night, plummeting to -22°C, and daytime temperatures will drop from -2°C, -8°C to -5°C, -11°C.

In the east and center of the country, temperatures will rise from -10°C, -23°C to -7°C, -18°C. In the southern regions, temperatures are expected to rise from -5°C, -13°C to 0°C, -10°C, with daytime temperatures reaching as high as 7C. In the southeast, nighttime temperatures will rise from -5°C, -25°C to -3°C, -20°C, while daytime temperatures will stand at -5°C and 5°C, with temperatures in the mountainous areas ranging between -6°C and -11°C.

As reported earlier, fog, ice-slick and high wind gripped Kazakhstan on Friday.
