Flowers from the Netherlands for 'flower carpet' delivered to Almaty
ALMATY. May 25. KAZINFORM /Yelena Ilinskaya/ The first lot of flowers - 2,340 chrysanthemums have been delivered to Almaty from the Netherlands. The flowers will be used for weaving a carpet of flowers with the size of 6 to 8 meters which has been designed by florists for the 20th anniversary of independence of Kazakhstan. The press service of the Almaty Mayor informs.
The next supplies of flowers are soon expected from Ecuador, Israel and other countries. Flowers from Kazakhstan will also be used at the flower festival which is scheduled for May 28.
On the day of the event, the flowers will be everywhere in the Park of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Cars, motorbikes, bicycles that are involved in the parade that is to be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. will be decorated with flowers.
The event will include the defile-show 'Flowers in Fashion' that is to feature unique costumes decorated with flowers.
Flower exhibition, fair and contests are in the program of the festival.
