Flourishing cooperation between Kazakhstan, OECD lauded in Paris

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakh Secretary of State Gulshara Abdykalikova met with the leadership of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on Day 2 of her working trip to Paris.

At the OECD's headquarters, she had a meeting with Deputy Secretary General of the organization Mari Kiviniemi and Director of Global Relations Secretariat Marcos Bonturi, Kazinform has learnt from the Akorda's press service. At the meeting, the interlocutors praised dynamic development of bilateral cooperation in all directions, including implementation of the projects within the framework of the Country Program of Cooperation signed between Kazakhstan and the OECD this January. Utmost attention was paid to the problems of social sphere development in Kazakhstan, namely healthcare, education, gender policy, and statistical data exchange. Ms Abdykalikova briefed the OECD officials on the progress of implementation of the Kazakhstan-2050 Development Strategy, the new economic policy "Nurly Zhol - Path to the Future" and the State Program of Industrial and Innovative Development. The Kazakh Secretary of State went on to express Kazakhstan's interest in mapping out the Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Commission for Women's Affairs and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the OECD. Marcos Bonturi, in turn, stressed the importance of maintaining intensive dialogue between Kazakhstan and the OECD and confirmed his participation in the upcoming 8th Astana Economic Forum.
