Flooding hits a village in E Kazakhstan, forces residents to evacuate

UST KAMENOGORSK. KAZINFORM - Dozens of residents of Kopa village in Ayagoz district were forced to evacuate and seek refuge in shelters as their houses were hammered by flooding early Friday morning.
Nearly 70 people left their homes as the flooding picked up, officials say. A special commission is currently examining the affected houses. Local emergency authorities are working non-stop to get the situation back to normal. Flooding in the region is normal in spring, but this time it has been especially brutal for the residents.
