First Lady of Kazakhstan wins CIS Star of Commonwealth Prize

MOSCOW. April 10. KAZINFORM. /Narymbek Ismagulov/ President of the National Scientific-Practical Educational and Health Center "Bobek" Sara Nazarbayeva was awarded the CIS Star of Commonwealth Prize for her significant contribution to the moral and spiritual education of the younger generation, protection of motherhood and childhood on April 9 in Moscow; Kazinform has learnt from the Kazakh Embassy in the Russian Federation.

The prize was received by Kazakh Ambassador to Russia Zautbek Turisbekov, who thanked the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation for the high estimate of the activity of Bobek Fund's head. He noted that the fund had been helping children from disadvantaged families and orphans for nearly 20 years. The diplomat also informed that by the decision of S. Nazarbayev all prize money would be transferred to the Children's Foundation "Bobek" to further the charitable activities.

The Star of Commonwealth Prize was established in 2008. It is annually awarded to nine laureates for achievements in the spheres of science and education, culture and art, humanitarian activity.
