First in CIS Children’s Science Museum to be opened in Almaty
Almaty plans to open the first in CIS Children’s Science Museum. This is what city mayor Yerbolat Dossayev said at the municipal maslikhat’s session today, Kazinform News Agency reports.
According to him, the museum will be opened in the building of the former Almaly shopping mall, located on the Republic Square. 12.2 billion tenge will be allocated for this purpose from the municipal budget.
The project, backed by the Head of State, will be implemented together with the Science Museum Singapore. The works are set to begin in early 2025.
Previously, this shopping mall belonged to businessman Kairat Boranbayev. Last year, he returned this facility and other assets to the state.
Earlier, it was reported that 10 artifacts from the National Museum of Kazakhstan collection were featured at the Common Heritage of the Silk Road virtual exhibition.
