First Deputy Prime Minister visits Almaty

MATY. August 19. KAZINFORM /Berik Bekmurzayev/ The problem of home investors will soon be addressed, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Umirzak Shukeyev said during his working trip to Almaty on Friday.

Shukeyev held a session on the issues of modernization of housing and utilities infrastructure and visited several construction sites in Almaty.

He said that 450 construction sites have been suspended; funds of 62 thousand home investors have been frozen since 2007. To date, 57,000 homeowners have already received their apartments.

According to the First Deputy Prime Minister, Almaty region was the biggest problem area with more than 2,000 home investors. But the Akimat (city administration) has taken a number of measures to improve the situation. It is planned that 2,111 people will get their apartments in May 2012.
